Embargo screening
Last updated:
Embargo screening checks whether a business partner or destination country is affected by country embargoes or targeted sanctions, particularly under EU Regulation 833/2014. It is mandatory for every company engaged in cross-border trade and includes affiliated companies (50 percent rule, ownership and control).
Who needs to carry out screening?
Every company that does business with partners in or from an embargoed country or supplies goods across borders. The obligation applies regardless of company size and includes affiliated companies with ownership of 50 percent or more.
